to Aging/Completion of Life

Mitzvah (commandment) is about life and Matzevah (tombstone) is about aging/completion of life.  Each person chooses how to celebrate each.  A Bar/Bat Mitzvah is at the age of 13/12 years which is the age of achieving Jewish adulthood, and a Bar/Bat Matzevah is at age 63/62 which is the 13th/12th year of the Jubilee 50-year period of release and renewal.

A person changes and conditions change as the person moves through the stages of life.  Celebrating a transition brings intention and direction to the next stage of a person's life.

A Bar/Bat Matzevah is for a person to celebrate their transition to the Aging/Completion of Life stage of their life, with its opportunity for the person to choose how to live during this stage of life in completion of their Youth, Adulthood, and Aging stages of life.
